Pool Replastering & Plaster Installation

A New Interior Finish for Your Pool

Over time, pool plaster becomes rough, stained, or worn, and it may start to crack or peel. Replastering replaces the old interior with a new, smooth, watertight finish and gives the pool a fresh look.

Pool remodeling with new plaster and tile is one of the core services at Islander Pool & Spa, and we have worked on pools throughout Southern California since 1999. Our crew handles the work from surface preparation to the new finish.

Visit our showroom to compare pre-blended, Diamond Brite, and polished marble finishes, then let us schedule the installation.

Replastering Your Pool

Signs It Is Time to Replaster

Rough or scratchy surfaces, stains that will not come out, chalky residue, cracks, bare spots, and hollow-sounding or peeling areas are common signs that plaster is near the end of its life. If you notice any of these, call us and we can talk through what you are seeing.

Choosing Your New Finish

We offer a large selection of pool plaster, including pre-blended plaster, Diamond Brite, and polished marble finishes. Each has a different look, feel, and price range. Compare samples when you visit the showroom, and see our Plaster Colors & Textures page for help choosing.

How Replastering Works

1. Choose your finish and schedule the work with our team.

2. The pool is drained.

3. The old surface is prepared so the new plaster bonds properly.

4. The new finish is applied, the pool is refilled, and start-up care begins.

Plan Tile and Coping at the Same Time

With the pool already drained, it is a good time to replace waterline tile or coping too, so the whole pool is finished at once. See our Pool Plaster page to compare finishes.

Pool Replastering FAQs

Common questions about replastering and plaster installation. Have a question that is not listed? Call us or visit the store.

It depends on the finish, your water chemistry, and how the pool is used. Most owners replaster when the surface becomes rough, stained, or starts to break down. Call us and we can talk through the condition of your pool.

Timing depends on the size of the pool, the finish you choose, any tile or coping work, and the weather. Call us to talk about your project and get an estimate.

Yes. New plaster needs careful start-up care for the first few weeks, including regular brushing and close attention to water chemistry. Our team will explain what your new finish needs when the installation is complete.
